If you asked us what makes shelter dogs so special, we could point you to Beaker to see for yourself. Beaker arrived at our local animal control office with severe chemical burns on his head, face, and ears; we don't know what happened to him - was he a victim of a meth lab? Was the burn deliberate? But what we DO know is that in spite of the terrible pain he has been through, Beaker has never once offered a human being anything but unconditional love (and lots of it). He is a two-year-old Pomeranian mix. He’s been neutered and he is up to date on all his current vaccinations. Beaker looks a little bit silly right now; our vet had to shave the rest of his head in order to treat the burns, and with his bald head and super-fluffy body he looks a little bit like a happy, adorable, bouncy vulture. Some of the hair may never grow back, but if you believe that beauty is more than skin deep - and we do - you couldn't ask for a more drop-dead gorgeous dog than Beaker. Come meet this special little guy at the Woodford Humane Society Adoption Center in Versailles today!
